KURT BRAUTIGAM

Kurt formerly served as manager of external communications for Mississippi Power Company. At Mississippi Power, he led the company’s highly regarded communications efforts in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, distinguished himself as spokesperson, and directed media relations and external communications for all major issues affecting the company. Kurt has also been responsible for public, media and community relations activities for South Mississippi Electric Power Association, Wesley Medical Center and Pearl River Valley Electric Power Association. He currently serves as a distinguished visiting lecturer at the University of Southern Mississippi where he teaches courses in undergraduate and master’s-level public relations programs and serves as a faculty advisor to the student chapter of the Public Relations Society of America.
